Just like I <3 candy, I love prints!  This print in particular reminds me of video games.  Perhaps a little Tetris (skirt) meets Ms. Pac Man (bag)?

Plaid is Rad

Belt - Zara
Necklace - Jennifer Zeuner Chelsea
Sunnies - Oliver Peoples Benedict
Shoes - Zara
Clutch - Tylie Malibu

Plaid is once again taking the fashion world by storm.  It had it's last big splash in the 90's, but now it's back and better than ever.  It has evolved from the grunge, flannel looks of the past, to being front and center at the runway shows of the luxury fashion houses.  Granted, Burberry has always been on the plaid bandwagon, but for the fall season everyone seems to be drinking the plaid Kool-Aid.  Every designer from Gucci to Victoria Beckham incorporated plaid in their F2013 lines, and I have to say it took me some time to embrace it......but when Victoria endorses something you know it's got to be good.  (She is a fashion genius, after all.)  So under her influence, I reconsidered my position and when I found this Equipment top with bright colors and mixed plaids I was sold.  Long, live, plaid!

Hero Dress

Bag - Unknown but love this one
Hat - Topshop Plain Fedora
Jewels - Minusey Gold Bangle & similar here and here

Everyone needs a hero dress.  It is the ultimate secret weapon, never letting you down in a fashion pinch.  The qualifications of a hero dress are:

                  1.  Only way to describe the fit is Cinderella shoe good.
                  2.  Looks fab on skinny and bloated days.
                  3.  Versatile.  Can be styled for a beach day or a black tie gala and everything in between.
                  4.  So comfortable that you often wonder if you should buy another one to wear as pajamas.
                  5.  Last and probably most important; a HD always guarantees a compliment on how
                       amazeballs it looks.

This Helmut Lang is my hero dress.  It has been the wind beneath my wings many a time, always saving the day.  Anytime I have a last minute event or the boy plans a surprise it comes to my rescue without fail.  It's the perfect shade of red and since it's knit it can be styled cazhj or fancy shmancy for whatever affair arises.  Post photo shoot I was going to a wine tasting, so I paired it with leopard print heels and a hat to give it a mysterious/chic/badass vibe. Roarrrr.

What's your hero dress?

Back In Black

Jacket - Phillip Lim Corded Motorcycle Jacket (sold out but also love this one)
Jeans - Hudson Collin Vice Versa Floral Skinny
Tee - Chasor
Bag - Phillip Lim Cobalt Mini Pashli Satchel
Heels - Zara Combined Sandal With Stiletto Heel
Jewels - Hermes and David Yurman Onyx Albion
Sunnies - Celine 41039 Deep Square

Having a moment right now in my wardrobe is the black, white and cobalt blue combo!  The colors are perfect compliments to each other and it's a variation on the black and white trend that is currently DOMINATING the fashion industry.  Don't get me wrong I love a black and white look as much as the next fashion drone, but in staying true to my bulletin board post-it, "Don't be like the rest of them Darling,"  I added blue for a pop of color.  How does your inner maverick speak to you?

Racing Stripes

Top - American Apparel Cotton Spandex Crop Top
Skirt - Olivaceous Vertigo
Bag - Proenza Schouler PS1 Pouch Leather Crossbody
Necklaces - Jennifer Zeuner Chelsea & Forever 21
Sunnies - Prada Baroque
Bracelets - Minusey, Club Monaco, and H&M

Midi tops are fast becoming all the rage.  These longer versions of crop tops are completely chic and have more of a peek-a-boo effect.   (I hated the old cropped tops that bared your entire torso and left nothing to the imagination-eww!)  The one I'm wearing from American Apparel has fast become my favorite as it is the perfect length, comes in a variety of colors, and is only $30!  I couldn't resist buying it in a couple of colors so expect to see more of this top on the bloggero.
