Midi tops are fast becoming all the rage.  These longer versions of crop tops are completely chic and have more of a peek-a-boo effect.   (I hated the old cropped tops that bared your entire torso and left nothing to the imagination-eww!)  The one I'm wearing from American Apparel has fast become my favorite as it is the perfect length, comes in a variety of colors, and is only $30!  I couldn't resist buying it in a couple of colors so expect to see more of this top on the bloggero.

How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?

When it comes to pets, I’m definitely a dog person.  Doggies are my fave not only because they are soft and cute, but also because they give unconditional love and can be taught to do just about anything...even to drive! I wish people were more like dogs.  We would go around licking each other, wagging our tails, and occasionally throw out a couple of barks.  Forget planet of the apes I want to relocate to planet of the dogs!  Arf. Arf.

Print Mixer

When it comes to prints, the same philosophy that makes two heads better than one can be applied.  It’s a fact Jack, that when two prints are STRATEGICALLY combined in an outfit they are way more fun than one!  Notice the emphasis on strategically?  The key to print mixing is to stay in one color family.  Though I enjoy coloring outside of the lines (kind of my speciality actually) in this instance it’s better to follow the rules....... otherwise a red nose and big shoes might be in order.  If you’re talented at making balloon animals than I say go for it, if not keep the colors matchy, matchy.

A Perfect Day

Last Sunday was the perfect day, well almost, short of winning the lottery.  The sun was blaring bright and I indulged in my two favorite past times, pool lounging and reading.  I spent the first five hours of the day horizontal on my raft surrounded by water, daydreaming, and jamming out to my tunes.  (btw, loving the beat and lyrics in Katy Perry’s new jam, Wide Awake-take that RB!).  Just short of a sun poisoning episode, I called it quits under the brightest star and had a location change (of course wardrobe, too) to the quintessential symbol of summer leisure...a shaded porch swing.  There, surrounded by purple flowers (seen below), and protected from the rays I caught up on Elle, InStyle, Bernstein, and yes duh.... Us Weekly.  With a little R&R under my belt I’m ready to kick ass this week.  Watch out world here I come :)
