Black & White

Say goodnight to the bad guy.  I don’t know about you, but after the fashion world OD’ed on color for the past two seasons, I am glad to see noir et blanc is no longer a fashion faux pas, it’s back baby!  B&W isn’t just back in a small way though, it's back and bigger than ever.... KABOOM!  POW!  BOOM!  With every fashion house from H&M to Louis Vuitton getting in on the en blanco y negro action, it's reached the ultimate achievement; complete fashion domination!  What’s your favorite new trend of the season?

In the Wild

Growing up my mum used to read me bedtime stories every night.  Heavy in the rotation was "Where the Wild Things Are."  I loved the idea of escaping reality and causing havoc with my monster friends.  I had a wolf suit growing up (obvi) but as I’ve gotten older my outfit for mischief has evolved into the below.  King of the wild thangs, meet the Queen........suited up in this animal print dress I say, "Let the Wild Rumpus start!"

Print Mixer

When it comes to prints, the same philosophy that makes two heads better than one can be applied.  It’s a fact Jack, that when two prints are STRATEGICALLY combined in an outfit they are way more fun than one!  Notice the emphasis on strategically?  The key to print mixing is to stay in one color family.  Though I enjoy coloring outside of the lines (kind of my speciality actually) in this instance it’s better to follow the rules....... otherwise a red nose and big shoes might be in order.  If you’re talented at making balloon animals than I say go for it, if not keep the colors matchy, matchy.

Love Is In The Air

I am LOVEing the leather (and animal friendly pleather) trend for fall.  My recent obsession with leather started with some skinny pants, ensued with a peplum number, and climaxed into a full on, pedal to the metal infatuation, resulting in this dress.  I thought that this piece would satisfy my sweet tooth for this trend, however in full disclosure, I just purchased a leather trimmed knit skirt and a pleather sleeved top (coming soon).  The runways were stocked full of some amazing white and light tan pieces for Spring 2013, so I’m happy to report that this trend will live on! (in my closet at least)
